We made this short film for the Queens Association for Supported Living (QASL) to highlight the amazing project they took on when they bought the old general store in Mill Village, NS. Over the course of 18 months the staff and clients of QASL carried out the complete renovations from top to bottom (with only a little help from professionals where necessary). The store now provides a place for the clients to work out in the community and show the abilities that they have.
If you haven’t visited the Riverbank General Store yet, you are missing out! Now that the store, gift shop and restaurant are up and running it is a great place to stop in for some Christmas shopping and a bite to eat. The gift shop sells items made by QASL at their Penny Lane workshop in Milton as well as products from local crafters. Follow them on facebook to keep up-to-date with the latest product lines.
We are truly lucky to have a place like this in our community and to have the people with the vision to make it happen. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with QASL, it has been a real learning experience for us and we’ve enjoyed every moment!
You might remember our longer film from earlier in the summer which covered the organization as a whole (click here to see it).
