Lane’s Privateer Inn is a place full of people who are passionate about wine, so when Susan Lane asked us to cover their first wine harvest festival we were very happy to oblige! Their enthusiasm and expertise is obvious.
They had put this event together (in conjunction with the Taste of Nova Scotia and the Winery Association of Nova Scotia) to celebrate the wine harvest here in NS, and it featured food and drink from around the region, including the Hell Bay Brewing Company, Ironworks distillery, Jost, Annapolis Highland Vineyards, Luckett Vineyards, Sainte Famille Wines, Benjamin Bridge and Eel Lake Oysters.
As well as the festival, Susan invited us along to her and sommelier Corinne Maund’s own grape harvest in Beach Meadows which was a fun afternoon, and we got a bit of footage from that day in the video too. These girls really know their wine!
I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed making it. Looking forward to next year’s harvest already! Thanks Lane’s.
This is the second video from our session with Norma MacDonald a few weeks ago before her show at the Petite Riviere Vineyards for Little River Folk. This is a song called Cordilia off her album Morning You Wake. We did this second one indoors as it was so windy outside, but the inside of the winery provided a lovely setting.

Yesterday afternoon we headed out to the beautiful Petite Riviere Vineyards for an Analog Songs shoot with Norma MacDonald. Norma played a Little River Folk show in the evening at the winery with Phil Sedore and Ian Foster, so we took the opportunity to catch her just before. We recorded 2 songs from the latest album in this session which we will be putting together over the next week or so.
Thanks to everyone who made this shoot happen including Leif Helmer, Scott Drummond, Norma, and Scott’s parents for welcoming us in and feeding us! Thanks also to the rest of the Analog Songs team: Cameron and Evan.
Here are some photos from the day. We’ll be uploading the videos sometime soon so watch this space.
